Historic Riverfront Sander's Place is steps away from the Appalachian Trail and offers direct access to the French Broad River, Enjoy the beautiful river and mountain views from the front porch or find your way to one of the many hikes directly from our home. You can walk to town via the AT across the bridge to enjoy shopping, rafting outfitters, The Hot Springs Resort and Spa, restaurants and breweries. You don't have to drive once you arrive at Sander's Place, everything is within a 10 min walk. Relaxation and adventure...all in one convenient location.
About the House
Sander's Place is a lovable river front 2-bedroom (one King, one queen), 2-bath home just a minute drive or 10 min walk to downtown Hot Springs. The front yard borders the French Broad River, so bring your camp chairs to enjoy the sounds of the French Broad River. The backyard has a hot tub and sauna as well as a Weber gas grill located on a stone patio that is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or glass of wine with friends. Sander's Place is very central to town, hiking & river activities.
The home sleeps 4 guests comfortably. There are two full bathrooms, one ensuite with a bathtub and the other with a stand up shower.
We allow up to 4 guests, and only offer sleeping space in the 2 bedrooms. Our furniture and floors are not intended for sleeping.
This home features a wonderful outdoor spa area equipped with a 4-person sauna and 4-person hot tub. (Our hot tub does not have natural spring water.) The Spa area also features a 200sq ft patio with seating, a Weber gas grill as well as an outdoor fire pit.
The French Broad River offers fishing, whitewater rafting, or relaxing float trips. Our home is 100 feet more or less to the Appalachian Trail. Hot Springs is a very quaint, but vibrant town. It can be one of the most relaxing places you'll ever visit! Set apart from the hustle & bustle of "the real world" but with easy access to many amenities, you can't go wrong with a visit here!
Other things to note
The home is also pet-friendly with a maximum of two small, well behaved pets. No pets on any furniture at any time. If we discover that pets have been on the furniture there will be an additional cleaning fee. Pets must be on a leash when outside. Any pets left alone in the house must be in a crate. No pets are allowed in the hot tub or sauna.
Guest Access
Guests will have access to the entire property and the opportunity to make it your home while visiting. There is a large, flat grassy area across the road that leads to the river that is yours to enjoy. If you like boating, tubing, or paddleboarding, this is a great spot to take out for Section 9 or begin Section 10 of the river.
Parking is directly in front of the house and will accommodate three regular size vehicles or 2 large vehicles.
Wireless internet and Smart TV are included for you to log into your streaming services. Bring a book, your hiking shoes, and a bathing suit & get ready to have a wonderful time.
Cell service is spotty in the area, Verizon and US cellular work best. AT&T does not have coverage in Hot Springs.
This is one of the only riverfront rental homes you will find within the Hot Springs city limits.

We visited Hot Springs for my wife's birthday and had a wonderful stay. The house was very cozy, the location was amazing – right on the river so we could walk into town – and the hot tub was the best part. I can't think of a better place to stay in winter!

Effortless checkin, they even left some lights on since we were arriving after dark. The house is charming with interesting history on the walls and in a beautiful location right on the river and super close to the AT and other hiking trails. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfy. The hot tub and sauna made for relaxing evenings after days spent hitting the trails. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Hot Springs!

My wife and I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary and it was ABSOLUTE TRANQUILITY! Rebekah, Mary and Marion are excellent hosts. They are responsive, attentive, helpful and have so much insight into the area, making the perfect recommendations. Best part is that The back patio is a private oasis that is ideal for unwinding after a day on the AT or the FB River! The hot tub is SO MUCH better than anything at the HS Resort. Oh! On our way up there, Rebekah notified us of a hot tub malfunction and since there was a chance we would not be able to use it, she graciously offered to pay for an hour at the HS Resort which we took full advantage of snd greatly appreciated. As it turned out, when we arrived, Marion snd Tyler had just completed the repairs and were refilling the tub…we were soaking in it that night! Exceeded expectations indeed. Unfortunate the sauna was not functioning but that did not ruin our stay. This place has everything you need for a private, relaxing, romantic get away! Especially if you enjoy the outdoors as much as we do! This place is literally 50 yards from the AT trailhead to Lovers Leap. You can also walk into town to enjoy the brewery or dining. We will be back!

We had such an amazing stay in Hot Springs and found everything to be as listed! Hot Springs is like taking a step back in time to slow down. The Big Pillow brewery was a fun environment with lots of people and live music on a Saturday night. Hiking trails are walking distance from the front door of the house (don't forget bug spray as we got eaten up). We also did activities suggested by Rebekah (French Broad ziplining and Sandy Bottom horseback riding) and had an amazing time. I would highly suggest this stay to anyone. The only downside is it is about an hour from Ashville however the drive it nice and peaceful through mountains so it is hard to complain. Hot tub worked great for us.

We had a wonderful weekend. The house is the perfect location to hiking trails, the river, and walking distance to town. So relaxing and beautiful. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout the house and the fire pit in the back was great! Have your coffee on the porch, no better view.

If you are ever in Hot Springs, stay here! Great energy, seconds from town, and right on the water and AT. Large, clean house with a comfortable bed and privacy. The hot tub and sauna are the cherry on top! This place was great for our family vacation! Great space, clean, and perfectly decorated. Short walk to the beach, and you can’t beat the private pool! The kitchen included everything we needed for cooking meals. Our hosts were very quick to respond with any questions we had during our stay. Highly recommended!

The Saunder's House is full of history, including a display of historical photos and owners. The home was well appointed and easy to find. The hot tub and sauna are why I chose this place for our anniversary trip and it did not disappoint! The hosts were kind, considerate, and quick to respond when I couldn't figure out how to work the sauna. We will stay again whenever we come back to Hot Springs.

Rebekah was a great host, she was always available and communicative whenever we had questions or concerns. The place itself is clean, well-equipped and comfortable. And for Hot Springs and the time of year it was, it very reasonably priced. I loved hot-tubbing under the stars with the river nearby. Would do it again.

We loved Rebekah’s home! It was in the perfect location. The area is absolutely beautiful and we were able to walk to the hiking trails and to restaurants in the downtown area. The hot tub was so wonderful to have in the evenings. Rebekah was quick to respond with any questions we had. We would love to stay there again if we return to Hot Springs.
